About the Edition

In this study over 5000 cubic metres of viscous fluid was injected in order to create a permeable connection between two of the wells drilled in the Carnmenellis granite. The induced seismicity was monitored with six sub-surface accelerometers and four hydrophones in the wells. 202 events were located during the eight-hour period of the injection. They were used to define the area and structure of the stimulated region and to understand the physics of the failure at joints.
